I then took this ban to the chatroom. I encountered Apollo and DarkDancer. Neither of them cared.
Here, apollo can be seen trying to justify my initial removal, simply because I have a different point of view. This alone should be enough to have him removed from his position.
Above you can see Apollo announcing that dissent is not welcome in the movement.
Here he is telling me to get over it. How can he possible believe the movement will gain ground, when there no accountability?
Here we can see both DarkDancer and Apollo making light of the situtation and ignoring the problem.
And then I was kicked out in mid conversation.
I went back to the chatroom the next day. Ask a question, hoping to re-open the issue.
Then i was promptly kicked out again by DarkDancer.
So, what does this demostrate? It demonstrates that there is a problem with power abuse in this movement. The real world is a much more complex place, where accountabiliy is necassary, but difficult to maintain. If it is this difficult to get accountability on a website, how can anyone expect it on a global scale?
Numerous people have been complaining about such actions, and nothing has been done about it. All the rhetoric in the world wouldn't hide the obvious lack of action. Until action is taken to combat this problem, the movement as a whole remains dysfunctional, untrustworthy and useless.
